PETALS BY THE SEA
Gather up these petals for me Let not one touch the ground that falls from the tree The cool breath of winter recedes The heart of spring begins to beat Embrace the summer heat Rest in fall's sleep On all flesh, His Holy Spirit will pour out Your Sons and your Daughters will prophesy without a doubt Old men will dream dreams Young men will see visions This generation must make a decision Must the stars fall from the sky? Must so many perish and die? Will not ye bow your knee to the One on high? If we plant these petals, will they turn into seed? Will a tree spring up in barren land by the sea? Should we look forward to a forest in generation three? All we have, my King, are petals from a dying tree Is this the beginning or the end? When Christ died, he lived. Can this burial shroud become a wedding gown? Will the radiant bride take up her crown? Will these dry bones raise up and speak? Will the Earth be inherited by the meek? Can a petal become a seed? Will a barren woman give birth in a time of need? Can the wilderness flood with living waters? Can a generation arise of true Sons and Daughters? Only you know, my Lord. Only you know.
